Thursday 03/07/2008: 7.45am: Update 1.30pm

Summary: Early Showers.

Today: There have been some early showers and we may see one or two more through the morning. Some sunny spells will develop, especially this afternoon and it could well be a pleasant end to the day. SW breeze picking up through the afternoon. 1.30pm: There have been further showers this morning and we may see more this afternoon. Generally sunnier as the afternoon wears on.

Tonight: Clear spells and probably dry.

Friday: A fine morning with variable cloud and sunny spells. The sunshine should last into the afternoon but there will be an increase in cloud from the south later in the afternoon. An area of low pressure is gradually going to move north and bring rain and some quite strong winds up with it. The timing is uncertain at the moment, but rain is likely at some stage of Friday evening, possibly not until much later, with the wind picking up overnight into Saturday.

Saturday: Unsettled. Alot depends on the position of the area of low pressure that is going to be close by all weekend. At the moment, Saturday is looking windy or very windy at times with showery outbreaks of rain and brighter spells in between. Sunday: Again depends on where the area of low pressure moves to, but at the moment its looking unsettled, possibly windy with further showery outbreaks of rain.

Further Outlook: The latest Met Office extended outlook is shown below.

"UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Jul 2008 to Thursday 17 Jul 2008:
The first half of the period will be generally unsettled with either showers or longer spells of rain at times, some of which will be heavy. There will however also be some drier and brighter intervals, especially in southwestern parts on Tuesday and in eastern areas on Wednesday. Southern and western areas are likely to experience some longer spells of rain on Friday and Saturday. As we move into the following week southern areas are expected to become a bit more settled with more in the way of dry weather and sunshine. However, central and northern areas are more likely to experience further showers or perhaps some longer spells of rain at times. The temperature will be generally near normal. Updated: 1253 on Thu 3 Jul 2008."
